what was the last concert you went to?

    post reviews here pls.

i went to see the living end at the enmore last night and it f'ing went off. i wasn't even that huge a fan, i just went cuz someone had a spare ticket, but these guys seriously rocked.

a serious side note: if you're throwing around beer in a moshpit, pls make sure it doesn't hit people in the eye. that shit stings.

also if you're 13 years old, you really shouldn't be in a moshpit. take advantage of the seating! i was standing in basically the second "row", and these 13 and 14 year old girls to my right just stood there all night, didn't even wave their arms or anything, and everytime someone bumped into them they'd chuck a hissy fit and i'm like WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?! tools.

IN FLAMES - Wednesday Night 22nd September 2004 - The Manning Bar

They are so good! All of my old and new favourites were played. Sveden, ja!
It was the first time they came to Australia and I'm so happy I went to see them! I moshed so hard until my neck was so stiff and it's still a little bit sore now. I've received a nice elbow nudge just above my right eye. Thank Satan they invented make-up. \m/ 'eavy Metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last gig I went to was Jeff Scott Soto a few weeks ago.

Jeff has sung with numerous groups over the years (including Yngwie Malsteen's Rising Force and Talisman), wrote songs for the Mark Wahlberg film "Rock Star", has performed with Queen, and also does a highly succesful Queen tribute show.

The gig was AMAZING. Intimate pub venue in Brisbane, probably only 100 people there. The highlight of the evening was about half-way through the set, a large number of the cast from WE WILL ROCK YOU arrived. And the guitarist for WWRY and one of the female cast (Amanda Harrison) jumped on stage with Jeff at the end of the night to perform an encore of Tie Your Mother Down and Hammer To Fall.

I saw them at Festival Hall.... one of the best concerts of all time for me. It was a welcome relief for two reasons:

    1. I bought a ticket to Radiohead's (my other fav band) last Melbourne show which was canceled, so to see Muse relieved some of that disappointment.

    2. Chris Wolstenholme (bass player) played..... this was brilliant after all the news about his fractured wrist and having a stand-in bass player (from Mike Skinner's "The Streets"), it was extra special to see Chris had made a come-back for the Australian leg of the tour.

    Erin, you suck

Didn't go to Muse, didn't get to Placebo. They were the two I was looking forward to this year. Next time they're out here I'm going. For sure. To both.

i'm not a huge radiohead fan...but i would have given anything to see muse. especially when your friend who lives in brisbane went to the second show up there and ranted and raved about it for ages afterwards. Best live show ever and all that...

    would you like a lemon?

even people who weren't huge radiohead fans were turned around by that show. most of the people i know who went to muse went to radiohead and they made no such calls re:best show ever.

    i'm more of a mango gal. ;p

you know who i wanna see? jeff buckley. damn deadness

at least i always have my live in chicago dvd

friend who commented that muse was the best live show ever would have to be brainwashed several times before you could get him to a radiohead concert. not a fan, in a major way. We're talking scrote from BCA

The last conerts I went to were both of The Living End's Sydney shows, and these guys bloody rocked at both of them! Some of the most memorable moments were when they played "Shook me all Night" and had the whole crowd sing along, and the improvised jamming in some of their older songs like "All Torn Down", as well as Scott (the bassist) balancing on top of his double bass and playing it at the same time, and Chris (the guitarist) using a bottle of beer to play his guitar. He even gave me the bottle after he was done.

I know I posted this in the Triple M section, but I'll put it here for those that haven't seen it:

There was a pretty funny incident after the show was over where I was. Andy came over and chucked his drumsticks into the crowd, and the two young girls in front of me had both caught the same stick. Now neither of them wanted to let the other one have it so they were fighting over it, having a good tug-o-war over it and saying things like "It's mine bitch!", "Give it to me, I had it first!" etc.

So one of the other girls watching decided that she'd try and help them sort it out by flipping a coin, choosing a number between 1 and 10 and so on, but they didn't want to. So they then decided to snap the stick in half and give a piece to each of them. The girl who was mediating then got the stick off both of them, bent over as though she was about to snap it, then bolted for the exit! What made it even more funny/evil was that she was actually one of the fighting girl's friends.

i went to the Sydney Muse concert, it was extremely awesome.

The last one i went to was on Saturday night, MACHINE HEAD at the UNSW roundhouse! now that was one of the best shows ive seen, up there with metallica.

I've seen the butterfly effect play about 10 times over the last year, they are awesome.

I saw Diesel about a month ago, an acoustic set in a small concert to about 50 people, he was awesome live. I have been a fan of Mark Lizotte since the Johnny Diesel & the Injectors days and his newer stuff too, and live he was spot on.

It was a small concert in a restaurant his family runs on the Central Coast NSW and even though it was only to 50 or so people his live performance was tops. Vocals and acoustics both amazing. I think he is one of Australia's most underrated contemporay artists.
